Tips for One Day in Cheb

A unique example of a Kaiserpfalz, the only representative of this type of castle architecture in our country. Its two-storey Romanesque-Gothic chapel of St. Erhard and St. Ursula is unique.
Pachelbel House, in which the museum is located, has been forever inscribed in European history since 25 February 1634 as the place where the commander-in-chief of the Imperial Army, Generalissimo Albrecht von Wallenstein, was assassinated.
This tourist, relaxation, and sports area is found on both banks of the Ohře River under Cheb Castle. The excursion boulevard is hemmed by playgrounds and a cycling path, and you will also find a mini-golf course, water attractions for children, an outdoor sports field, a cross track, a pétanque terrain, table tennis, streetball, a high-ropes centre, a picnic meadow with several grills, a lookout tower near Vávra Footbridge, a barefoot path, and two restaurants with summer terraces.
The lookout tower from the church rewards your ascent of 170 stairs with a beautiful view of the town of Cheb. There is an admission fee. You will ascend a comfortable stairwell to the area of the bell tower (133 stairs), from where a spiral staircase opens into a steep, final ascent (37 stairs) leading to the area of the lookout.
