Bismarck Lookout Tower on Zelená Hill – 637 m above sea level

The original lookout tower from 1891 was wooden and was replaced in 1909 by a sturdier stone building. It is named after the German chancellor, Otto von Bismarck, and in this era, around two hundred other towers, columns, and monuments were constructed to honour him in the German-speaking countries of Europe and in South America. In our country, there are still two other so-called Bismarck towers, one in nearby Aš, and the other near Mikulášovice in the Šluknov Hook.
