Excursion to Waldsassen

Waldsassen, a historical German town in the borderlands. Some of its significant monuments include the Abbey Basilica with the largest church and monastery crypt in Germany, the library in the Cistercerian Convent, the Baroque rotunda of the Chapel of the Holy Trinity, and the Stiftlandmuseum - which documents the life of our predecessors.
Length of route: 19,6 km

At first, the road to Waldsassen is the same as in Excursion No. 8, but remain on the Wallenstein Cycle Route in Šlapany, continuing over the border into Mammersreuth. In this area, you already need a valid travel document. From Mammersreuth, continue further on the cycling path via Egerteich and Hundsbach, going around the Lourdesgrotte cliff chapel – this route has a length of almost 20 km.
