{"id":16360,"date":"2022-06-07T12:10:38","date_gmt":"2022-06-07T10:10:38","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/tic.cheb.cz\/schirdinger-house\/"},"modified":"2022-06-07T12:10:38","modified_gmt":"2022-06-07T10:10:38","slug":"schirdinger-house","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/tic.cheb.cz\/en\/schirdinger-house\/","title":{"rendered":"Schirdinger House"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>This house with a narrow facade and a graded, high gable is illustrative of the appearance of Gothic buildings in medieval Cheb.<\/p>\n<p>Its basic layout with an 8-m-wide and 52-m-long lot dates back to the period when the square was established at the beginning of the 13th century.<\/p>\n<p>The building we see today dates to the 15th century and is the only preserved purely Gothic patrician house in Cheb.<\/p>\n<p>From the era of its reconstruction, we can point out the Renaissance arcade gallery in the courtyard and the groin vaults of the entrance hall with the richly decorated column dating to the 17th century.<\/p>\n<p>In 1833, a memorial plaque of the Schirdinger Dynasty was placed on the house, which was removed after World War II.<\/p>\n<p>In 1925, the house was purchased by the town of Cheb, which carried out the necessary renovations.<\/p>\n<p>Radical changes were made during reconstruction work in the 1960s, when the original Gothic layout of the interior was transformed and only the original facade remained.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>This house with a narrow facade and a graded, high gable is illustrative of the appearance of Gothic buildings in medieval Cheb.
